Home Energy Cleansing

Dried herbs and flowers in a wooden bowl with a candle, beads, and a flute nearby, set outdoors on grass and wooden surface.

A gentle ritual to cleanse your home and set intentions for what you'd like to welcome in. It draws on Tyrolean traditions passed down through our family: Räuchern, a cleansing with the smoke of herbs and resins, and Kräuterbuschen, hand-tied bundles of herbs kept to protect the home. Alongside these, we use natural found objects that hold meaning, such as feathers, stones and crystals. Book it on its own, or after a declutter, a move, a change in your life or a new beginning.

When people choose a cleansing

Your home carries the story of everything you've lived there. A cleansing is how you begin what comes next: together we clear the space, then fill it with intention, so your home feels alive with renewed energy and ready for everything you want to welcome in. People choose a cleansing to:

  • Step into their next home and make it feel unmistakably theirs from the very first night

  • Fill a space with inspiration before starting a creative project, a home business or a well-earned retirement

  • Welcome a birthday, anniversary, new year or change of season with clear intentions for the months ahead

  • Breathe fresh energy into rooms they've just decluttered, downsized or renovated

  • Honour the memories in an inherited family home while making room for their own story

  • Leave a much-loved house with gratitude before selling or moving on

  • Open a new chapter after a separation, a loss or a difficult time for the life they want to build next

Messy & Co’s roots connect to Merano in South Tyrol, where the founder’s grandmother was born. Across Tyrol and South Tyrol, homes have long been cared for through traditions of smoke, herbs, fresh air and intention. During the Rauhnächte, families would move through their homes with fragrant resins and herbs, opening windows afterwards and marking a transition from what had been to what was coming next. That idea of clearing, renewing and creating space for a fresh beginning sits naturally within the Messy & Co approach to home energy cleansing.

Traditions from the Tyrolean Alps

Smoke cleansing

In South Tyrolean tradition, Räuchern uses fragrant herbs and resins carried through the home in a heat-safe vessel. The ritual marks a clearing of the space, followed by opening windows and doors to welcome fresh air and a sense of renewal.

Herb bundles

Bundles of herbs have long been gathered and kept in South Tyrolean homes, sometimes later used during traditional winter smoking rituals. Messy & Co draws on that idea of working with natural materials, scent and intention.

Intention setting

In the space you’re focusing on, whether that’s your whole home, a studio or a single room, we choose together what you’d love it to hold. It might be creativity, rest, connection, focus or something else entirely. From there, we create a simple ritual around that intention, using the sound of bells or chimes, the scent of herbs and oils, and natural objects chosen for their meaning and left in the space as a lasting reminder of what you want to welcome in.
